Freshfields, Johns Island

Freshfields, Johns Island
April 2015

You’ll have to wait for summer to visit this market that draws an easy-going mix of locals and visitors. Starting in June, kids can romp without worry on the Freshfields Village Green while adults shop for fruits and veggies; local fish, shrimp, crab legs, and more from The Seafood Lady; and artisan fare such as freshly baked Great Harvest Bread goods and the sweet or spicy Molly & Me Pecans. Aside from the delicious eats, check out Crew LaLa’s colorful dog collars and leashes, Mary Ann Jefferson’s classic sweetgrass baskets, and Stella di Mare Designs’ jewelry and decor items. The locale means it’s easy to pop into favorite village retailers—from GDC to SeaCoast Sports and Outfitters—too.
