Big News for Big Days!
Charleston Weddings is coming out three times a year

Written by Melissa Bigner

Wow. We’ve been sitting on this Big D for a few weeks and it’s been killing me to have to wait and share the news. But I just got the greenlight from the powers-that-be to spread the word so tada! Here you go!

Charleston Weddings started as a special section in Charleston magazine in 2004. By 2005 it was hefty enough to stand on its own, and since then has been coming out twice a year. Over time, we added a Spring Bridal Show to Charleston Fashion Week® and a website rife with real-life weddings, décor, fashion, crafts, the area’s only free place to post wedding and engagement announcements, and the most extensive directory of Lowcountry vendors anywhere. We launched this newsletter and now? We’ve outgrown two printed issues and are moving to three newsstand copies starting with Spring 2012, which we’re pulling together as I type.

Just so you can plan ahead, here’s when we’ll be coming out with next issues: Spring (out January 2012); Summer (out May 2012); and Fall-Winter (out September 2012). Look for website updates with each issue release—select content from the issues, plus bonus photos, bonus fashion, bonus crafts, and more. And, as always, you can find digital versions of past issues on our home page (just scroll to the bottom).

So hold on to your veils and know you’ll be seeing more weddings, more décor, more new vendors, venues, and more ideas to make Big Days extra special. I’ve already got sneak peeks at Spring and Summer and they are gorgeous! Haute and homemade touches, and a lot of green as a secondary color pairing seem to rule the aisles.

Oh—and one more thing about the uptick? We’ll have even more opportunities for giveaways. That reminds me to remind you to enter the current Pillsbury® pie pop giveaway here! It comes with an Anthropologie apron, a Le Creuset pie dish, a cake/pie stand, cookbook, craft supplies, coupons for ingredients, and more. Perfect for showers, rehearsal dinners, and/or receptions. You’ve got till December 1, 2011 to enter, so get clicking, or pass on the word to your pals.

Last: Thank you, thank you, thank you! We are so excited to be able to feature more brides, more Big Days, and more vendors, and to celebrate more weddings in this wonderful corner of the world. There’s no doubt Charleston Weddings wouldn’t exist without you, or even have the chance to grow into the success it has become. Cheers to all of it!
