NYC or Bust!

NYC or Bust!
August 2013
A local play heads to an Off-Broadway stage

On August 6, a caravan of vehicles packed with 10 actors and five crew members, plus props, sets, and costumes, is leaving Charleston for the Big Apple. The New York International Fringe Festival is the final destination for Perfectly Normel People, a play written by locals Thomas and Judy Heath and first produced by The Footlight Players during Piccolo Spoleto 2012.

The family comedy was chosen to be performed at the largest multi-arts festival in North America from among more than 800 entries. “Fringe NYC has been a stepping stone for productions to have extended runs Off Broadway,” says Thomas, “and that’s always been our ultimate goal for Perfectly Normel People.”
