A Bistro-Chic Kitchen

A Bistro-Chic Kitchen
December 2015
French-chic never goes out of fashion—even for the home. Architect and interior designer Chris Rose draws inspiration from classic bistros when outfitting this kitchen concept. “For your own space,” he suggests, “look to your favorite restaurants for inspiration.” The key? Aim for style and function

Chris Rose

Who he is:
Award-winning architect, interior designer, and principal of Christopher Rose Architects, P.A.

Where you’ve seen his work:
Architectural Digest, Residential Architect, Charleston, and HGTV‘s Dream Home

On what inspired this look:
“When renovating an 88-year-old building in French Normandy style, I wanted to keep the kitchen‘s look appropriate for its age and its architecture. I was inspired by classic French bistros, but made some updates, such as using larger scaled subway tiles. And black countertops tie it all together.”
