The Charleston locals hired Lady Fingers to fashion a three-tiered Southern wedding cake with hummingbird, strawberry, and red-velvet layers.

Friend Teri Bennett crafted these kissing balls by wrapping the stems of green mums with floral wire and inserting them into a foam ball. She finished the look with pearl-headed pins and fuchsia tulle ribbon handles.

Kristin says she loves donning a monochromatic outfit and adding a burst of color. Fuchsia roses did just that to her all-white attire.

Kristin bought blue stick-on rhinestones at a crafts store and created her own “something blue.”

Guests sipped Kir Royals during cocktail hour and took home their own bottles of champagne as favors. To DIY, purchase inexpensive bottles of champagne or wine, remove the labels, and replace them with a personalized label printed from your own computer. Use double-sided tape or glue dots to secure. Complete the look with a special message printed on paper discs and tied to the bottle’s neck with ribbon.

Good Food Catering created a cheese sampling table, and Elizabeth Porcher Jones scripted the names of each item on placards.

To add pizzazz to basic flower girl frocks, Sarah Bradley attached paper blooms to black tulle ribbon sashes.

Kristin’s favorite city next to Charleston is Paris, so Carte Blanche printed these reply cards with French phrases in hot pink ink—both clues that set the tone for the event to follow.

Use your resources. Kristin’s maid-of-honor’s mother stitched damask and fuchsia pillow covers, which Kristin kept for her guestroom. “When we have guests over it’s like they’re back at the wedding,” laughs Kristin.
