Weddings at the Wine Festival

The goings on here in the Holy City are almost too haute to handle! First up, I'm thrilled to announce that Charleston Weddings editor Melissa Bigner will take to the Food & Wine Festival this Saturday at noon with Heather Barrie of gathering—event + design to debut their book: "Southern Bouquets."

I personally previewed the dynamic duo's sage advice and Peter Frank Edwards' amazing photography that both feature in the coffee table book. (Take up copyediting, and you'll get loads of first looks....Only toughie? Keeping your mouth glued when you know such fab fodder is on the verge!)

Melissa and Heather will be sharing simple how-tos for florals (especially on dressing a brunch table) and money-saving, "green" ideas—and will use only blooms they've gathered locally that morning. Plus, Trae Wilson of Granville’s Catering will offer up mini roasted tomato quiches and more!

And if you're dying for more, Sunday at 1:15 p.m., Tara Guérard of Soirée will be there bringing the pages of Spring-Summer Charleston Weddings issue to life by recreating a tabletop from one of the featured weddings she designed. She’ll talk about how to take any table (reception, wedding rehearsal, or dinner party) from drab to fab with favors, place cards, table numbers, fine linens, and on.

Plus, Tara will be offering up sweet macaroons to those who visit her booth. And why wouldn't you? Especially when the wedding maven has just released her second book in January simply titled "Weddings" as a follow up to the renowned "Southern Weddings: New Looks From The Old South."

Brides-to-be: you may want to take notes!
