There’s nothing like a love story loaded with a hefty dose of chivalry.

Take Charleston residents Danny and Taylor, for instance. The pair met in San Antonio, Texas, where she studied at Trinity University and Taylor attended basic training for the Air Force. Taylor and a few friends were out enjoying dinner, when a few gentlemen started to bother them. As fate would have it, Danny also happened to be out with a few of his friends, came to the rescue, and their courtship began.

Fast forward three years later, and Taylor and Danny were set to say “I do,” working with A Charleston Bride’s Melissa Barton to plan a classic wedding at the French Huguenot Church, followed by an elegant reception at Hibernian Hall.

Melissa describes bride Taylor as “an old soul with a very classic sense of style.” So, using a color palette of ivory, military blue (a nod to the groom), purple, and silver, the July wedding featured tall centerpieces of delphinium, hydrangea, and iris, hand-calligraphied butler cards, and a cozy lounge area where guests could kick back on cream-colored sofas and soak up the surrounding candlelight.

After the wedding festivities were done, guests took home a deliciously sweet box filled with two large pralines, a Charleston specialty. Here’s to finding a knight in shining armor!
