There’s just a little more than two weeks until our annual Bridal Couture Show (March 28) and there’s still time to enter the free ticket giveaway! Click here for more info and your chance to win.

The BCS event is truly a blockbuster one, and in the countdown to our Big Day, we’ll profile various aspects of the show. Today, I talked with Heather Barrie of gathering: event + floral design to find out how she and her team will transform the tent in Marion Square into a little bit of bridal heaven come March 28. Sure there’s the main attraction—the runway and gowns—but as for the ambiance? She’s going with a gray, white, and (most likely) soft yellow palette. “Gray,” Heather laughs, “is the new black. It’s just as elegant without being overly high-contrast.”

Those soft, springy colors will play out in a setting loaded with ideas to help you personalize your own wedding. Look for seating areas comprised of ottomans and gilded, upholstered chairs; a mix of mirrored side tables and pickled wooden coffee tables topped with florals; smoky gray linens atop the bar; and antique votive chandeliers hanging overhead. Heather dubs the look “vintage elegance meets modern chic,” and says brides can work with area event rental companies to recreate their own event with similar elements as the companies stock much more than folding tables and chairs. Personally I can’t wait to see it all firsthand—and hope you’ll join us to take it all in, too!
