Hi there, Web gals. There’s just a little more than a week till our annual Bridal Couture Show (March 28) and we just drew the winners of our ticket giveaway. I did say winners because we got so many great entries we had to pick two! (Insert drumroll here, please…) Congrats to bride-to-be and avid Charleston Weddings reader Mandy Stone and event-planner-to-be Latitia Ard! We’ll contact you with details. Thanks so much to all of you who entered. There are still tickets left, so please visit www.Charlestonfashionweek.com or call etix (1-800-514-ETIX) to get yours. And check the blog this week for a surprise offer (hint hint…)
In the time leading up to the show, we’ve been profiling some of its various aspects. Today: Gowns, gowns, gowns. From goddess to glam and traditional to ta-da! this year’s Bridal Couture Show (BCS) really will have it all. Check out the featured boutiques and national designers.
Theme: "Couture Masquerade"
Belle Couture Bridal’s lavish gowns channel the grandeur of a masquerade ball and put the couture in BCS. Featuring designers such as Monique Lhuillier, Melissa Sweet, Vineyard Collection, and Claire Pettibone, this local fave—formerly Copper Penny Bridal—is sure to be a showstopper. (11:30 a.m.)
Themes: "Goddess" & "Black & White"
Daniel Island boutique White brings earthy, natural looks with flowing goddess gowns that make any bride feel as if she’s floating down the aisle. Alongside Jenny Packham, Amsale, The Cotton Bride, and Manuel Mota designs, White’s owner-designer Jodi Moylan will also show her custom creations: White Private Labels. And for those looking for groom apparel, Charleston Formal Wear at Berlin’s for Men will accompany the White Label models in a dashing array of tuxedos. (11:50 a.m.)
Theme: "Eastern Echoes"
Known for its extensive collection of more than 200 designer gowns, Columbia’s Bella Vista Bridal brings an East meets West aesthetic with daring makeup and breathtaking gowns to this year’s runway show with designs from Alvina Valenta, Lazaro, Augusta Jones, and Enzoani. This is their first time at BCS and we can’t wait to see what they bring to the tents! (12:10 p.m.)
Theme: "Pop Princess"
Gown Boutique of Charleston closes the shows with stunning details, details, details. From seductive mermaid silhouettes to regal ball gown skirts, cap sleeves to deep V-necklines and lavish lace appliqués, Daniel Island’s Gown Boutique offers variety in both style and price with designers such as Reem Acra, Badgley Mischka, Augusta Jones, Amy Kuschel, Adele Wechsler, Renella de Fina, Modern Trousseau, Judd Waddell, Anne Barge, Rosa Clara, and Lela Rose.
