The latest news in fashion and shopping around Charleston

Shop Talk
This fall brought big changes to two of the city’s toniest retailers. Rapport relocated its women’s wear collection to the former home of Charleston Cooks! on East Bay—a light-filled space ”in one of the most vibrant areas on the peninsula,” notes owner Anne Summer. And Gwynn’s of Mount Pleasant debuted luxurious private dressing suites in which customers can try on new looks with assistance from friends or one of the store’s personal shoppers. Exhibit Worthy
Whether you’re looking for a statement necklace to dress up your wardrobe for the holiday season or have gift-giving in mind, stop into Hermosa Jewelry’s trunk show at Hagan Fine Art during the First Friday Art Walk on November 4 (5 to 8 p.m.). Local designer Haley Keisler (whose "Sweet Bird" necklace, $295, is shown above) will be displaying accessories incorporating semi-precious gemstones, locally found oyster shells and organic materials, freshwater pearls, vintage elements, and more. Baby Love
Get ready to coo and cuddle, squeal and squeeze: Lowcountry Baby Boutique is open, and you couldn’t ask for a sweeter selection of itty-bitty clothing, plush toys, blankets, swaddles, and gifts (like rattles in the shape of South Carolina). Owner Amy S. Lutz—who recently shuttered the 18-year-old From Here to Maternity—also stocks diaper bags, cloth diapers, slings, carriers, and other necessities. Give it a Spin
Exciting news for East-of-the-Cooper spin enthusiasts: RIDEHOUSE has opened in the Shoppes at Brickyard, offering 45-minute ”HOUSEride” classes to energizing tunes in a dark, candlelit studio. ”We’ve brought in aspects of Pilates through control and isolation, and riders are led through outdoor sports movements such as rowing,” says owner Megan Pawlowski. ”Functional training techniques such as boxing are also involved. Impeccable form is a core element coached to the rider as it is in yoga.” Plus, there’s on-site childcare. [2700 Hwy. 17 N., Mount Pleasant; www.ridehousestudio.com]
