Get Set to Shop!
Sample sales, trunk shows, tax-free time, and more

Written by Melissa Bigner

Hats off to all the summer brides out there braving the recent swelter wave that’s swept across the city! For those of you still in the planning mode, head indoors where the AC’s all icy and perfect for shopping for sweet gowns. And be sure to mark your calendar for August 5-7; it’s tax-free weekend and you can save big on big purchases—like big white gowns.

To help you out, we’ve rounded up a list of some of the trunk shows going on in the area (see below). But also know that Bridal House of Charleston is participating in the “Brides Across America” campaign again this year. Women who are active military—or engaged to someone currently serving in the military—can score a gown (valued between $500-5,000) if they show up at the store July 20. Gowns tend to be samples or overstock and run the gamut of sizes, but they are given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. In other words, they will likely run out, so be there early. For more information, contact the store. Bridal House of Charleston, 1055 Johnnie Dodds Blvd., Mount Pleasant; (843) 971-1477; www.bridalhousesc.com
