Are you a Pin-aholic?
We’ve got your fix…

written by Melissa Bigner

According to a 2012 survey from The Knot and Mashable, one out of five brides use Pinterest to help create their dream weddings. Whether these women are DIYers or are showing their boards to planners, they are for-sure pinning their way to pretty Big Days.

Charleston brides are no exception, but we could have told you as much, survey or not, as almost every bride featured in the pending summer issue of Charleston Weddings magazine mentioned the social media “inspiration bank” as a major planning tool. When Shannon Meland, whose Kiawah Island Golf Resort wedding is set to be featured in the next magazine, was asked where she went for ideas, “PINTEREST!” was her answer. “It’s the best invention and its creation couldn’t have come at a better time,” she says. Shannon shared her boards with the planners at Gathering Floral + Event Design, and detail-by-detail they pieced together a real-life version of her online scrapbook of ideas.

If you count yourself in the same pin-addicted boat, we’ve got great news for you. We’ve just revamped and expanded our boards to create the most comprehensive Pinterest board featuring all things Charleston weddings out there. We scoured past issues of the magazine, dug deep into our website, and culled the best from our blog, The Wedding Row, to compile one heck of a one-stop shop for ideas and sources galore.

We’re still adding pins daily, and the rollout will continue from here on, so follow us or search “Charleston Weddings” under Pinners. The coverage will only expand, and includes the best of the best in the Lowcountry.

Happy pinning!
