A Thanks for Giving Feast
Share a holiday potluck with some of the town’s best chefs and pick up their delicious recipes along the way

For our November issue, the Lowcountry’s own Mr. Hospitality, Charleston Grill G.M. Mickey Bakst and his wife, Ellen, opened their handsome Mount Pleasant home for a special Thanksgiving dinner with their fellow F&B friends—“chefs who all are an important part of the charitable community here, each offering their services and skills to numerous organizations,” says Mickey.

And as you prepare your own Thanksgiving feast, these charitable chefs share some delicious dishes worthy of replication—such as Michelle Weaver’s moist and delectable herb-roasted turkey with gravy; Mike Lata’s unctuous turkey-liver stuffed sweet onions; Jeremiah Bacon’s sweet potato, russet potato, and rutabaga gratin; and hostess Ellen Bakst’s gorgeous pear and cranberry frangipane tart. Whether you make the full lineup or pick and choose among the sides and desserts, you’re sure to knock your friends’ and family’s socks off.
