Artisan Meat Share
Sidle up to this charcuterie-driven lunch counter (open ’til 7 p.m.!) for sandwiches stuffed with meats cured at sister restaurant Cypress. And while brats, pâtés, bacon, and the like steal the show, almost everything—from the bread-and-butter pickles to the pimiento cheese—is crafted by hand. It’s hard to go wrong here unless you’re a vegetarian, but the porchetta, combining creamy ’nduja (a spreadable spiced sausage) and cripsy pieces of pork skin, is particularly delish. www.artisanmeatsharecharleston.com

The Daily
From the folks behind Butcher & Bee comes this market for gourmands on the run. Pair a cup of Stumptown coffee with one of pastry chef Emily Cookson’s uber-flaky croissants, or be virtuous and snag a salad and cold-pressed juice. Breakfast sandwiches are a highlight, featuring creative accoutrements like harissa ketchup and sweet-onion jam. Just don’t plan to hang out—there are no tables and chairs for dining in. www.shopthedaily.com

Livelihood Cafe
With exceptionally friendly service, a cozy yet kid-friendly dining room, and a tasty menu of simple fare, we’re betting this becomes many a West Ashley resident’s new go-to. Breakfast is served from 7 a.m. right up to their 3 p.m. closing time—grab a chicken biscuit to go or sit down to an omelet, French toast, or steak and eggs plate. For lunch, soups, salads, burgers, and sandwiches are added to the mix. Find Livelihood Cafe on Facebook.
