This season, I am translating modernism into “soft sculpted” forms. My resort-wear practices three principles of the Bauhaus movement: volume rather than mass, balance over preconceived symmetry, and an expulsion of applied ornamentation. The resulting clothes are well-cut and simple, accented with minimal extravagances. You’ll see elegant fabrics that utilize Lycra for enhanced comfort and fit, tone-on-tone dots and stripes, and tea-dyed crêpe de Chine. My aim is to effect an interplay between flowing fabrics and geometric undertones and produce classically feminine and fluid garments that evoke a romantic urban mood.
