MargoKaufmanGallery.com presents: Fashion Is Art II
The official kick off party for Charleston Fashion Week benefiting Center For Women and Lowcountry AIDS Service
Friday March 12th 7-11pm, 438 King Street, Silent Auction 8-10pm, $20 at the door, Music provided by DJ CMNDer
Last year's kick off party was such a great success. MargoKaufmanGallery.com is honored to host the official kick off party for Charleston Fashion Week for the second year. This year Fashion Is Art II will benefit 2 local charities. The painted clothing theme will still be a big draw like last year, but this year we also gave local fashion designers an artist project.
This year local artists were given the infamous Margo t-shirt and asked to paint the t-shirt as they would a canvas. Artists are allowed to do anything they want to the t-shirt as long as it remains wearable.
Artists include:
• Karin Olah
• Kirsten Moran
• Leigh Magar
• Lisa Shimko
• Matthew Bowers
New this year is local designers were given the project of turning numerous Margo t-shirts into a dress or an outfit. The designers were allowed to use the t-shirts in any way to create an original design.
Designers include:
• Heather Koonse
• Rachel Gordon
• Marysia D. Reeves
• Erin Perkins
Each one of a kind painted t-shirt and each one of a kind dress will go up for silent auction during the event. A portion of the auction proceeds as well as a portion of the door will be donated to Center For Women and Lowcountry AIDS Services.
