2nd annual model competition

It’s no secret that Charleston Fashion Week® and its Emerging Designer Competition have helped launch the careers of aspiring designers—Carol Hannah Whitfield, Gordana Gehlhausen, and Marysia Dobranska Reeves sound familiar? And the CFW Rock the Runway model competition was created to do just that for undiscovered talent on the catwalk. After CFW 2010, three runway models—Caroline DeBruhl, Phoebe Guest, and Chelsea Rollins—catapulted to success in New York, two signing with top modeling agencies IMG and Ford and one walking in Alice + Olivia’s spring show.

This year, of the more than 1,000 applicants seen during four casting calls in Charleston, Charlotte, and Atlanta, only the top 10 male and top 10 female models will be selected by our featured designers and boutique owners to strut before our panel of judges on Saturday night. These 20 finalists will be judged on walk, appearance, and personality, and one model in each category will take home the grand prize—$1,000 and a fashion spread in Charleston magazine or another GulfStream Communications publication. Join us under the tents on Saturday night to root on your runway faves during the culmination of five days of fashion, talent, and friendly competition.
