Horns blare, soulful voices sing, and couples sway as a variety of local party and shag bands play under the stars on the Freshfields Village Green. On July 3, Shrimp City Slim kicks off the month of free concerts with Lowcountry blues and original tunes. Party band Plane Jane takes the stage on July 10 with favorite cover songs, while the Rum Punch Bandits offer Jimmy Buffett hits on July 17. Congdon & Company mixes it up with rhythm and blues, pop hits, and more on July 24, and Permanent Vacation brings modern and beach tunes on July 31. Freshfields Village, John’s Island. Friday, 6-9pm.
