“Lure of the Lowcountry”
One could spend an entire winter day lost in the works of John Folsom, whose mixed-media photographs depict scenery in Palmetto Bluff, Edisto Island, and Cumberland Island, Georgia. To reveal the art historical precedents of these pieces, Folsom’s photos are paired with early Lowcountry landscapes by artists such as Thomas Coram and Charles Fraser. Gibbes Museum of Art, 135 Meeting St. Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-5pm; Sunday 1-5pm. $9; $7 senior/student/military; $5 child six-12; free for child under six. (843)722-2706, www.gibbesmuseum.org
