Charleston, South Carolina: Scattered clouds, light rain, 62.6 °F
Chamber Music
For me, the festival begins when Charles Wadsworth comes out on the stage and starts telling corny stories. As a musician, I appreciate his selection of unfamiliar repertoire alongside stellar performances of well-known pieces. When the music plays, everyday concerns evaporate and are replaced by beauty and harmony for a glorious hour. Watching these young musicians rise to international stardom is a wonderful part of being in Charleston during the Spoleto Festival. —Carol Antman, executive director, Creative Spark
