Brahms, Tchaikovsky
Sarah Chang began playing violin at age four, auditioned and was accepted to the Juilliard School at age six, and performed with the New York Philharmonic at age eight. Who in their right mind wouldn’t want to see this musical prodigy all grown up? The 28-year-old will perform Brahms’ glorious Violin Concerto in D Major with the Spoleto Festival Orchestra along with Tchaikovsky’s tragically beautiful Symphony No. 6 in B minor. —Edward Hart, associate music professor, College of Charleston
