Local seafood is the tie that binds at this delicious convergence of food and literature. Dine on shrimp and grits at Fish Restaurant as authors Mary Alice Monroe and Nathalie Dupree talk shop. Monroe’s latest novel, Last Light Over Carolina, centers around a shrimp boat captain injured at sea, while Dupree—a James Beard Award-winning chef and food writer—counts Nathalie Dupree’s Shrimp and Grits among her list of published works. After lunch, head to Blue Bicycle for a book signing with champagne and dessert. A portion of proceeds benefit the Sustainable Seafood Initiative. Reservations are required.
