Clarence Felder's A MidSummer Night’s Dream

Shakespeare—with a tropical twist. Be whisked away with one the Bard's wackiest tales of mistaken identity and fantastical romance, put on by award-winning actor Clarence Felder and a troupe of local thespians. Hosted by the Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina, the tale of “moonstruck lovers” is beset with adventure and whimsy in this new adaptation, finding the timeless cast of Puck, Titania, and more on an unknown Carribean Island. Presented in two short acts in the unconventional setting of Circular Congregational Church, Felder's unexpected theatricality is only heightened. Catch a special seminar at 5 p.m. on Saturday after the matinee performance in which actors discuss South Carolina Humanities. Circular Congregational Church, 150 Meeting St. Friday & Saturday, 7:30pm; Saturday, 3pm. $25-$15.
