Chore Monkeys

College of Charleston Department of Theatre presents the premiere of Chore Monkeys, a play by Patrick Gabridge that examines white privilege, racism in the workplace, and the complexities of interracial relationships. The play follows Dante, a young African American handyman, as he struggles to get his business, "Chore Monkeys," off the ground. In a last-ditch attempt turned social experiment, Dante wrangles his buddy Peter, a white male, to pose as the face of the website, and soon, the business takes off. Humor meets harsh reality as Gabridge brilliantly takes audiences on a touching journey filled with laughter, a few jaw-dropping moments, and a poignant reflection on how we treat one another. Chapel Theatre, 172 Calhoun St. Days & times vary. $15-$10. (843)953-6306, theatre.cofc.edu
