1 oz. gin (Tanqueray recommended)
1/2 oz. simple syrup (recipe follows)
1/2 oz. lemon juice
Chilled brut Champagne
Lemon twist, for garnish
In a champagne glass, pour in gin, followed by simple syrup. Add juice, and top with Champagne. Garnish with lemon twist.
For the simple syrup:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Cool and refrigerate up to a week.
