The Spirit of South Carolina captain guides the tall ship and students’ onboard education.

Ship Shape: Modeled after the 1879 Frances Elizabeth, the Spirit of South Carolina offers onboard educational programs, including multiday adventures and school group day sails.

Mainsail: Tony Arrow has served on some of the most famous tall ships in America, including Harvey Gamage, Spirit of Massachusetts, and The Niagara.

Modern Mariner: Since the Spirit was launched in 2007, Arrow has taught more than 3,100 middle and high school students, sailing the tall ship as far north as Maine and as far south as the Dominican Republic.
