Event Details

For more than three decades, McClellanville residents have opened their town to visitors from around the Lowcountry to partake in a truly Southern celebration. Spend the day on the banks of Jeremy Creek at the Robert E. Ashley Boat Landing while dining on a feast of local shrimp (with options available for land lovers). With an expansive children’s play area and more than 45 local artisans in the craft area, there is plenty to keep the whole family occupied. Make sure you don’t leave before the main event, the Blessing of the Fleet, when local clergy bless local shrimpers as they set off into the waters. Archibald Rutledge Academy, 1011 Old Cemetery Rd., McClellanville. Saturday, 11am-5pm. Free. (843)887-3323, www.lowcountryshrimpfestival.com
