Good People “is really about asking and attempting to answer who in the story is a good person,” says Sharon Graci, artistic director and co-founder of PURE Theatre, which presents David Lindsay-Abaire’s 2011 Tony Award nominee for Best Play from November 2-24. Set in South Boston, the tale revolves around single mom Margie Walsh, who is facing eviction after being fired from her job. She contacts an old beau who’s found success, setting off a witty drama that delves into questions of class. “It’s not readily apparent which of the characters is ‘good,’ and the audience will likely waffle between who they think is right. It’s a smart, smart play, with wonderfully drawn characters,” says Graci. She plays alongside PURE Core Ensemble members Cristy Landis and R.W. Smith in what promises to be a thought-provoking Rodney Lee Rogers-directed work.
R.W. Smith and Sharon Graci star in Good People, showing at PURE Theatre, 477 King St., November 2-24. For tickets ($30), call (843) 723-4444 or visit puretheatre.org.
