Event Details

Directed by Pamela Galle and centered around Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations, this play explores the obsessions of both the troubled composer as he comes to terms with his growing deafness and a modern-day musicologist as she learns the creative process behind the piece. Though Beethoven is in 19th-century Austria and Katherine is in present day New York, the two go through similar journeys, their stories overlapping on stage—the former learning to accept his genius, and the latter to accept her daughter.
