ANNIE

Originally debuting on the Broadway stage in 1977, Annie tells the story of a spunky orphan living in New York City during the ‘30s, and her attempt to escape from the cruel Miss Hannigan, who runs the orphanage, and find loving parents to adopt her. Based on a comic strip by Harold Gray, the musical has won seven Tony Awards and remains a favorite holiday tale. This season, the Footlight Players present their rendition of the heart-warming story with sing-along favorites like “It’s a Hard-Knock Life” and “Tomorrow.” Footlight Theatre, 20 Queen St. Thursday-Saturday, 7:30pm; Sunday, 3pm. $35-$15.
